Series Overview

Mastering the Treatment of Injury and Pain is the latest webinar from the office and clinic of Whitfield Reaves. In these courses, he describes specific assessment and treatment protocols for common clinical conditions. Emphasis is on gaining an anatomical understanding of the tissues involved, such as trigger points and motor points. The clear and precise techniques that result are sure to benefit your patients with injury and pain. Course 1 is an introduction to acupuncture sports medicine. We must understand what anatomical and orthopedic acupuncture is, and how it is used in a modern setting. This introductory course prepares the practitioner for each of the remaining modules. Course 2, 3, and 4 cover the shoulder and upper extremity. The low back and hip are discussed in Course 5 and 6. And finally, the lower extremity completes this webinar series with Course 7, 8, and 9. Each course contains lengthy presentations by the instructor, Whitfield Reaves. It may even include how the sports acupuncture community evolved these treatments, most of which were not written in any of the texts from China. At the end of each course, there is a short summary which gives the practitioner a quick way to reference the material. That is followed by demonstration videos of palpation, location, and needle techniques. This webinar series is designed to be viewed in sequential order. We strongly recommend that the practitioner complete the courses of this series from beginning to end. This series was introduced in 2021 and represents Whitfield’s most current material on sports acupuncture. The demonstration video is filmed in high definition HD. The nine courses include additional injuries not covered in the 2011 series, the Acupuncture Sports Medicine Webinar Series. Each course in this new series features more in-depth instruction on diagnosis, assessment, and treatment techniques. Whether or not you have already taken the older series, this new educational video is a must-have for deepening your clinical mastery in sports medicine.

Whitfield Reeves is the best. A great teacher, immense clinical experience, bases his recommendations on what he has seen work, is not afraid to challenge text book classics when it does not match his long term experience. Is wiling to share everything and does not have some secrets he is unwilling to share with everyone. He is a humble good man in service to his patients and the profession. His teaching will benefit thousands he will never know of.
