Course Overview
In this distant learning course, students will gain a deeper understanding of ways to recommend advanced nutrition to patients to enhance mental function including cognitive and emotional wellbeing. Specific topics will include: (1) Maximizing Brain health - strategies for using nutrition, advanced supplementation, and TCM for helping patients with cognitive and brain functions. Specific conditions such as memory, Alzheimers disease, Dementia, and peak performance will be discussed. (2) Maximizing Emotional Well-being - strategies for using nutrition, advanced supplementation, and TCM for helping patients with emotional well-being. Specific conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, and personality disorders will be discussed. (3) Nootropics - What are nootropics and how can we incorporate them into our treatment plans? Students will learn the most common nootropics found on the market and how to properly and effectively recommend them to patients. In the process, students will be shown the ways in which Traditional Chinese Medicine offers nootropics through herbs and different acupuncture points. (4) Psychedelic Science - What are the many cutting-edge methods being used in the areas of psychedelic science for mental health and wellbeing and how can we incorporate these modalities into our treatment plans. Students will understand the proper, effective, and responsive way to refer out for these types of modalities.
