Course Overview

Take off your shoes and tour some clinics in Japan with me, and along the way learn deeper aspects of Japanese Meridian therapy acupuncture. I will show you variations of treatments by various teachers in Japan. A deeper discussion of Japanese concepts, including more recent research, of the heart, Hara and Skin as it relates to meridian therapy. The treatment of the yang meridians, middle pulse, Oketsu, non-insertion needling using various Japanese tool, including the Teishin and Zanshin. A discussion on the use of Kikei (Extraordinary Vessels) to treat symptoms and the phases using various methods including polarity, needles and moxa. The use of the Chinese Clock (Shigo) for symptom control including pain and reoccurring time symptoms using various methods including needling and moxa. A complete treatment will be shown by a Japanese teacher including a play by play description so you can easily follow it.

  • To understand the three brains and how they relate to Japanese Meridian Therapy.
  • To understand the Shigo, Extra ordinary vessel treatment variations as done by Japanese Meridian therapy.
  • Integrate traditional wisdom with contemporary medical insights.
  • Develop sophisticated understanding of Japanese Meridian Therapy principles.
  • Expand therapeutic intervention strategies.

Course Outline

0 hrs - 30 minThe treatment of the Yang Channels.

30 min - 1.25 hrsThe use of the extraordinary vessels in symptoms and pulse regulation.

1.25 hrs - 1.75 hrsThe use of the Chinese Clock in Japanese Meridian Therapy.

1.75 hrs - 2 hrsThe observation of various Japanese Meridian therapists clinics.

2 hrs - 2.5 hrsUnderstand the three brains and how they relate to Meridian Therapy, diagnosis and treatment.

2.5 hrs - 3 hrsUnderstanding the basics of Meridian therapy diagnosis of the pulse and abdomen.

Teacher

Dr Cameron Bishop lived, worked and studied in Japan for four years. He specializes in Japanese Meridian therapy, Women's Health and Pain Management. He has been practicing over 25 years in South Florida. He has extensive teaching and clinical experience.
