Course Overview
This course explores methods to learn to feel Qi in the pulse, meridians, points and abdomen. These approaches can be applied to needling and patient treatment. They include various breathing styles, Qi awarness exercises, gathering Qi, using your Hara, and ways to deepen your patients relaxation response.
Course Objectives
- Be able to describe the concept of Hara, points, meridian, and Qi in Western language.
- Learn methods to deepen patients parasympathetic responses.
- Understand various breathing methods.
- Learn about posture.
Course Outline
0 hrs - 30 minLearn about the concept of Qi, the western language used for it and the original meaning.
30 min - 1 hrsLearn about breathing, posture and needling.
1 hrs - 1.5 hrsBe able to describe various methods to enhance the patients relaxation response.
1.5 hrs - 2 hrsLearn about the concept of Hara and how it relates to acupuncture.
Teacher
Dr Cameron Bishop lived, worked and studied in Japan for four years. He specializes in Japanese Meridian therapy, Women's Health and Pain Management. He has been practicing over 25 years in South Florida. He has extensive teaching and clinical experience.
