Course Overview
Integrating several classical traditions and disease progression theories, we’ll discuss a Chinese medicine understanding of the development of the many symptoms associated with long COVID. Brendan will also discuss his clinical experience successfully treating long COVID with acupuncture, herbs and eastern nutrition including information from his recently published article in the Journal of Integrative Medicine titled “Long COVID Response To Classical Chinese Medicine. Disclaimer: There are no proven treatments for Covid-19.
Course Objectives
- Explain how classical Chinese medicine theories of disease progression apply to post-viral syndromes such as long COVID.
- Differentiate at least three common long COVID symptom patterns using a Chinese medicine diagnostic framework.
- Identify treatment modalities—including acupuncture points, herbal strategies, and dietary recommendations—shown to support recovery in long COVID patients.

Brendan Kelly LAc is an acupuncturist, herbalist, author and professor who has been practicing Chinese medicine full-time since 2004. His first book “The Yin and Yang of Climate Crisis” uses the lens of Chinese medicine to look at the bigger and deeper issues of global warming.
